First Five Years Fund Oregon Data

According to the First Five Years Fund, Oregon’s early childhood system serves tens of thousands of children and families but still reaches only a fraction of those eligible, highlighting ongoing gaps in access and affordability. Child care costs average around $19,500 per year, placing significant strain on families and contributing to broader economic impacts across the state.

The data underscores both the importance of federal and state investments and the continued need to expand access to high-quality early learning opportunities for Oregon’s children and families.
