Building a Business: Certified Family Child Care Management Training

Applications are now open for our next cohort serving the Medfoprd and Portland areas and surrounding regions. This cohort will start on September 23rd and run through April 14, 2018 with sessions held one or two Saturdays each month. Certified Family Child Care Owner/Operators are the primary participants. Staff of Certified Family Child Care or Registered Family Providers who plan to become Certified will also be considered. You MUST have a Step 3 or higher on the Oregon Registry. To particpat ein the future, you must currently be employed in a licensed child care CENTER and you MUST have a Step 3 or higher on the Oregon Registry. Mind in the Making: Oregon Standardized - Credit Option Cohort

Exciting opportunity for Set Three Training or 2 college credits! This training series analyzes the Seven Essential Life Skills outlined in Ellen Galinsky's book “Mind in the Making.” This series of 8 modules shares the most recent research findings on the skills that support children's success in school and life. Through in-depth study and an engaging and interactive facilitated learning process, participants will critically examine how to support the early development of children in their lives. The Seven Essential Life Skills are Focus and Self Control, Perspective Taking, Communicating, Making Connections, Critical Thinking, Taking on Challenges and Self-Directed, Engaged Learning.
Set Three in Human Growth & Development; 18 Hours; All ages

Three Saturday Sessions - to be determined, 9:00 – 4:00 pm You MUST attend all sessions to receive an Oregon Registry Certificate. Notebook of materials included.
We have a limited number of Leadership Cohort Scholarships for this training. Apply to OCCD to qualify, then submit your approval letter to OregonAEYC with your registration.

Observación y Evaluación – Cohorte Intensivo

Estrategias de observaciónes, evaluaciónes y conferéncias para niños preescolares

We are working to schedule a cohort in Medford in Fall of 2017 and in The Dalles or Pendleton area in Spring 2018.

Este entrenamiento se enfoca en examinar cómo el uso de un plan de calidad de estudios es relacionado con observaciónes específicas, y explorar las herramientas de evaluación para mejorar nuestra capacidad y poder proporcionar a los niños de edad preescolar (entre 3-5 años) en un ambiente de aprendizaje óptimo para alcanzar su pleno potencial. Vamos a explorar una variedad de modelos de educación y estrategias para recoger información pertinente para ayudarnos a crear una ilustración auténtica del desarrollo del niño preescolar de una manera positiva, así como evaluar nuestras propias prácticas.
