Training Workshops Director Certificate Training Series

Oregon Director Certificate Training Series  

Due to funding limitations we will not be holding a Cohort in 2016-2017.

The following is information form 2015-2016.
The training will be held over six weekends from Friday at 1:00 pm to Saturday at 4:30 pm with meals included and lodging for those who travel over 50 miles.

Training is scheduled one weekend per month for six sessions (November, December, January, February, March & May). Training includes 60 hours of Set Two Training in Program Management plus Orientation, Coaching meetings and Q & A sessions. Thanks to the Office of Child Care, Early Learning Division of the Oregon Department of Education and the Betty Gray Early Childhood Development Endowment Fund provided through the Oregon Center for Career Development, scholarships are available to pay for most of the tuition for qualified applicants. Training will be held at OregonAEYC Conference Room, 5427 Glen Echo Ave in Gladstone, OR. Traininig is available to directors and lead staff from licensed child care centers from throughout the state.

Applications for the 20 available spaces in the 2015-2016 Director Certificate Training Series are now open. Applications are screened and a Cohort is selected. This is not first come.

You MUST currently be a Director, Site Director, Assistant Director or other Lead Staff employed in a licensed child care center
.
You must also have an Oregon Registry Step 3 or higher so start your Step application immediately if you are not already at Step 3 or higher.

This program applies to those who serve children in any age group from infants through school-age.

Dates: Classes are held on Fridays from 1:30 – 9:00 pm and Saturdays from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. You must commit to attending all sessions. Dates for 2015-2016:
November 13-14
December 4-5
January 15-16
February 12-13
March 18-19
May 13-14

Location: Sessions will be held at OregonAEYC Conference Room, 5427 Glen Echo Ave, Gladstone, OR 97027.

Costs: Although most of the program is covered by scholarships, the remaining cost per participant is $200 which may be paid in installments. The balance of the tuition is covered by scholaships unless employer support is available. This cost includes all materials including textbook, snacks, Friday dinner and Saturday lunch, trainers, coordination, evaluation of the Cohort, and for those who travel over 50 miles one way to the training a mileage stipend and lodging.

Applications are screened and selected by the Advisory Committee. All applicants will be notified by ------ of the status of their application whether accepted or not.
